Histopathology (for mass removals)

Once we have performed a mass removal on your pet, it is recommended to send it to a specialty laboratory for further testing. The pathologist will be able to classify the mass as a benign or malignant (non-cancerous or cancerous) growth. Even if the doctor has performed an aspirate and cytology in the clinic to determine the type of mass, histopathology is required to ensure we have completely removed all the abnormal cells.
